Epistémologie de la géographie russe - Géosphère

Abstract : This textbook outlines the epistemology and history of Russian and Soviet geography from the 1870s to the 1990s. It presents the contribution of this school of thought to the epistemology of geography and the history of science, through the approaches, methods and major concepts, which, of Russian origin, have strongly influenced world geography. In order to understand why the great Russian and Soviet authors defined geography as the science of landscapes, this book provides the reader with many unpublished translations of founding texts, while placing them in their cultural context. Russian and Soviet physical geography can be called systemic, taxochorological and spherical.
