Hacia una semblanza de Tertuliano en la España de Felipe IV

Abstract : This article examines the reception of Tertullian in Spain in a period which includes the reign of Philip IV. We focus on the biography of this Father of the Church by investigating the information Pedro Manero gathered in the paratexts of two books which he published in 1644 and 1657. We also analyse other data like those transmitted by Pellicer. Our investigations show that Manero considers the significance of Tertullian is thoroughly determined by his last years and especially by his relations with Montanism.
