Le risque hydrologique urbain : le cas des eaux souterraines à Limoges (France)

Résumé

Hydrological hazard and urban risk: the example of groundwater in Limoges (France). The town of Limoges is built on a metamorphic bedrock where concentrated runoff is only artificial. The groundwater drainage pattern forms a complicated network whose Gallo-Roman aqueducts are the most ancient part. The paper reconstructs the original watersheds of brooks which are covered by urbanization. The imbalance between natural drainage areas of brooks and artificial drainage areas of main sewers brings to a mapping of risks of percolation in houses, flooding in cellars, urban collapse and water pollution.
